This double stained adult rat is housed in a glass apothecary vial with a very small opening. The funky position lends to the uniqueness of this specimen. The purple bone stain is vibrant and the blue cartilage stain is in areas of development. The bones in the tail, feet, hands, and spine are sharply defined. The blue cartilage in the ribs are vibrant and show distinct differentiation from the rib bones.

Additional qualities to note are the cartilage in the skull and between the joints. This shows that the skull and bones are not fully developed.

This specimen was carefully processed over months in order to ensure quality, vibrancy, longevity, and safety. Though many heavy chemicals were used through the process, this piece is completely safe and can even be used as teaching tools for demonstration of bone development, or an addition to any collection.
