Classic Stained Baby Chick in Small Lab Vial

Classic Stained Baby Chick in Small Lab Vial
Here is a double stained diaphonized baby chicken. The bone stain is vibrant and contrasts the deep blue cartilage of the specimen. Given the young age of the specimen, there is a lot of blue cartilage present. These blue areas represent where the specimen is growing and soft areas between the joints.
In these young chickens, you can see the multiple bones that make up the spine and the breastplate, all separated by the blue cartilage. Those blue areas are where the bones are growing and developing, ultimately fusing together once the specimen is mature. In an older specimen, there would be much less of that blue cartilage stain.
This laboratory style specimen display vial has been permanently closed to ensure there will be no leakage or diffusion of liquid over time - so there will be no need to replace, refill, or replenish the liquid inside.
